First Update!
Greetings all!
Just posting the first devlog update of the game GuildSim (just running with that name for now)!
Saving and Loading
- improvements made to saving/loading mechanics, additional checks for saving with an active quest and party. Now properly reassigns the parties when de-serializing.
- Saving no longer should mysteriously make all your quests vanish.
Gameplay
- Updated the back-end systems that handle moving around quest-cards and their internal data
- Added placeholder rooms with some GenAI placeholder data to give a sense of what I'm planning for the additional rooms - expect them to change a lot, as GenAI was just helping fill out the blanks for now until the meat and potatoes can get added.
- Map function should be working (M on keyboard, or just click the "town map" tab).
- Roster Recruitment should be working as well.
- Partially working is the Training Room. As a follow up to the recent changes in how I handle and pass data around, I still need to make some updates to how the training room grabs its resources, both occupied party members, and currency. As well as the room itself locking down the recruits that are actively training. You can't be out on a quest and in the gym at the same time... unless...
- New Progress Bar Graphic. This comes from one of the many many asset packs I've purchased, it's just a placeholder until more personal art can either be made by me, or commissioned by me (Much love to the artists out there, the only thing I'll ever use AI for is helping me with code, because coding is just a means to an end for me, I really just want to be designing and directing).
I'm sure there's a few more things I tweaked, or worked on and just forgot at the moment, I'll try to get better for future updates.
